The National Risk Assessment Team held a meeting at the headquarters of the Financial Follow-up Unit to discuss the development and implementation of the national strategic plan resulting from the findings of updating the national risk assessment. The meeting was attended by members of the national team from the relevant and supervisory authorities and law enforcement agencies, with the aim of unifying efforts to mitigate risks and enhance the national framework for combating money laundering.
The head of the team/Director of the Financial Follow-up Unit, Dr. Firas Morrar, reviewed the methodology adopted in preparing the strategy, the main objectives to be achieved, in addition to the mechanisms for implementing these objectives according to specific timetables.
The national team will continue to follow up on the implementation of the strategy in several stages, with periodic meetings to measure the effectiveness of the actions taken, ensuring their compatibility with the priorities of the State of Palestine and international standards for combating money laundering.
During the meeting, the team decided to hold bilateral meetings for each party with the Financial Follow-up Unit to reach the final version during the coming week.
